What post do you use for the milling that works?

We can make a very simple change to that post processor.

Hi guys sorry if my question is too sily... In my school we have a very simple CNC, almost like a router... and it don't suport drilling cicles or any other mill cicles at all, so I wonder if I can create the drill holes only with G1 or G0? Selecting another processor can I use only the most simples codes maybie?

First really thanks for the help!

Generally I use fannuc generic mill but I edit the final file. I remove the tool changes becouse the machine only have one tool. I always remove the G28 in the end becouse the machine doesn't understand it, as well the G21 on the begining. Entry with arcs aren't suported becouse the axis changes... like G17 or G18, it don't work... and generally I have a lot of trables with any kind of cicle or code a litle bit difrent... 😕

Oh I forget... the arcs need to be made with the radius. I, J, K isn't suported... hahaha

I made a special post processor for you.

I removed the G21, also made sure that arcs are only used in G17 so the XY, all other movements will be linearized(meas made into small line segments).

Also arcs are in radius now.

Please test carefully and let us know if it works or not.

About the G28 I would like to know what code the machine like to retract the Z axis, because I don't like to make posts that don't have a Z retract.

Thanks a lot man! I'll try as soon as possible in the machine and bring a feedback to you. The post seems all right, but I'll take a look at the G28 code again. Thanks again man.

I have a similar setup using a Laguna 60x90 router table based on a simple Chinese hand controler.

I found the generic gskcnc.cps processor worked well with the hand controler as long as I fixed the G28 lines.

You should be able to make the drill cycle work by adding a return to height comand at the end.

Try these code mods in the post processor

Test the drill cycle without tools to verify that it returns to height before the next move

You may have to find any G28 lines and input the Z value manualy.

(2)
(T2 D=6.35 CR=0. - ZMIN=0. - FLAT END MILL)
N10 G90 G94 G17
N20 G21
N30 G28 G1 Z0. (set initial Z to value that clears everything like Z60 or whatever)
N40 G90
(DRILL1)
N50 M9
N60 T2 M6
N70 S20000 M3
N80 G54
N90 M8

(machining code)

N490 G28 G91 Z0. (Set Z to initial value that clears everything)
N500 G28 X0.

Yes, the post that Lourence edit to me I can now drill witout cicles, but a lot of stuffs are not sopported on the machine... It's a pain in the **** but I need now use a generic Gplus for the simple operations and this edited post-processor to drill... but I still need to edit the G28's and the names and remove empty lines...
