Turns out there is a bug when converting a model from the v1 Lighting addin (from way back in 2014 when it was called 'Revit Daylighting Analysis' or RDA) that has not been used with any interrim versions of Insight. As this is a rare situation, I won't push out an emergency patch, but if anyone else has this issue, please let me know, and I'll give you an updated installer.

I am using Insight for the first time. When I select the lighting button to begin the lighting analysis process, I get a pop up message that says:

"Data in this document has been converted from a prior release of Lighting Analysis for Revit. To avoid data conflicts, please save the model, then close and re-open Revit before opening any additional documents that may contain Lighting Analysis results."

Can anyone shed light on why I might be getting this message? I've closed and re-opened the model but its not fixing the issue.

Thanks!

That should not come up unless there is run data stored with the model. Did someone else on your team run Lighting previously?

Can you send me the log files from <mydocs>/Autodesk/RevitDaylighting? Please send to insight360.support@autodesk.com.

For now, this message can be ignored if you've saved the model and reopened Revit, or if you are not working on multiple documents during a session.

It's very possible that someone has done this before. The project we are working on was on hold for about 4 years so many people have touched the project and have since left the company.

I'm having trouble finding the log files you're referring to. Are you able to give me more detailed instructions to fine them?

That makes sense. I got the same message when testing a very old model from a very early version of Lighting. I think the issue is that the data conversion missed a step from the very old models. You should be fine to continue forward, though I realize the message is annoying each time you open the model. If you don't need the old runs, I can manually clean out the model for you if you like.

The log files are in My Documents folder (main Windows Explorer level, then My Documents), then the path from the last message. It might be that a log file is not created for the conversion process, so if you haven't done a run, the folder may not be created yet.

Thanks for the log files.

It does look like it's failing to convert the old results for some reason.

If you need the old results, feel free to send the model to insight360.support@autodesk.com. If not, you can just ignore the messages.
