AFAIK most crashes of Inventor are provokated with so called Bad Bodies (issues in 3D topology that could be revealed with non-documrnted build-in utility BSCT, called by Ctrl+F7 )

The most notorious is that those bad bodies can be any where even in templates of some standard (produced by Autodesk itself) families of Content Center (ex DIN 1587 nut).

But even worse is the fact that to fix the bad body issue (except those imported) the element should be deleted and created (with all the same parameter set). Taking to account that in our Vault there are hundreds of "bad" IPTs. it is

definitely not human task to recreate elements.

I wonder is there already some add-on or macro that being run on particular elemnet recreates it with as less as possible difference from initial (desirably such that wont breake dimensions on IDW etc)?

Thanks in advance.

For the topic of Bad Bodies see also:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/bad-body-error-edge-intended-convexity-disagrees-with-geometry/td-p/7978563

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/bad-body-error-edge-goes-through-the-pole-of-a-surface-checked/m-p/7967921/highlight/false

Seems you have not read cross-referenced threads carefully enough.

No matter which Inventor version is used. The issue is actual for 2014 and for 2018* (i don't have time for testing but i'm pretty sure the were no much changes in-between regarding bad bodies**)

* I don't know why you think the DIN 1587 nut model is not from Inventor's native 2018 Content Center. (which suppose no need for user to do any migration before using it within 2018)
Anyway the man from Autodesk accepted THERE IS bad body in it and provided recommendation to delete one of revolution features and re-create it using the same sketch.

** Undocumented status of BSCT makes me think so.

Maybe I don't understand correctly, but for me nothing is wrong with the uploaded file DIN 1587.
There haven been issues with the CC since 2016 release, and that is the only thing I try to point out for you.
Since files definitely need to be "migrated" from earlier releases in the vault they have some errores if they are not configured correctly in the earlier releases.
Could be that there is still something wrong on your side.

By every new release you need to migrate the Cc libraries to the new release. I don't talk about the files themselves, but only the databases with the library files. Because of these changes the files became some errors since the 2016 release of inventor. Ie some files have been change and were having errors with the existing files in vault...

As for the bad body issue in the sheet metal, I think the reason is that users created them in a very old Inventor, in one of the thread you provided a data you can see it was created in Inventor 10, and the problem should be caused by the Flange feature creation method, in that data you can see the resulted side face is like below:

but in a later Inventor the Flange feature creation is enhanced, so the result is like below:

I posted a workaround in below thread if users don't want to re-create the features manually, paste it here if other users want to find it from here:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/bad-body-error-edge-intended-convexity-disagrees-with-geometry/m-p/7992448#M694584

The feature creation methods had been changed from old Inventor(the user's data was created in Inventor 10).

Now, if the feature is re-created in Inventor 2014 or later Inventor versions. Then, there will be no problem.

Our problem - there are hundreds (may be thousands, batch check is in progress and expected to finish in couple weeks) "bad-body" IPT-models in our Vault and it hard to explain their authors why they got spoiled and why they need to re-work them now (me - CAD manager won't do neither manual nor automatic feature re-working).

Only authors can do re-working but I have no arguments to force them doing this manually and having no guaratees that this issue wont repeat on some new Inventor release.

...To make things worse thousands IAMs and IDWs should also be updated afterwards....

The latest migration (to 2014*) was last made personally by me (using Task Sheduler) following all the recommendations that were actual for that moment. And now it looks like I (Cad Manager) did some mistake that spoiled the work of hundred designers (good actions never stay unpunished).

Such a faulty migration is a "huge pig" from Autodesk's side.

(without automatic solution for this issue it seems easier to change the CAD/PDM vendor...)

* We don't see the easonable reason to update the release.

Necessity of mass migration (especially Configuration Factories/Members) and updating all and everything afterwards overwaight pros of several new features added in 2015-2019.
