Cannot Remove iLogic Rule or Event Trigger

I'm just trying to upgrade some files and I had some errors during migration in terms of iLogic rules. Since we don't need these rules in particular parts I was trying to just remove the event trigger for them and delete the rule. But every time I try to manually do this I get the pesky famous generic "efail" message. (see attached)

I tried just commenting out the whole rule and even suppressing it but I can't do anything with it. I tried it in 2019.1 as well as the same file in 2021.1.

I have attached the file as well here.

Any ideas, I guess I don't know what else to try. Something obviously made it mad. 😀

To add some more info. I tried to go into the parameter's that are being used by the "Pc Volume" rule I am trying to remove, to maybe try and remove those. Well it errors out saying I don't have the file checked out to me when I clearly do. I even wiped out my local, got a new file and checked it out to me. I am also logged in with admin rights.

something had to get hosed up in this file to make it still think that it's checked out. Is there anyway I can try to figure this out? I have verified that I don't have it checked out on another machine, I have removed and replaced the _V folders, tried file read-only properties in windows, you name it. There somewhere else I can maybe look to see what is going on?

PS - This is a library file but all that should be configured as well.

When I open your part file, I can easily delete your local rules and remove rules from the Event Triggers, so it doesn't seem to be anything to do with the file itself, at least not once the file is out of your local environment. If the file is located within a directory that is specified within your Project settings (or Vault) as a Library, it most likely won't let you make permanent edits to those files. I'm not currently using Vault, so I'm not an expert on it, but it sounds like you may have to copy those files somewhere outside of those library directories, then open and edit them, then move them back to the library directory, overwriting the original files. Similar to working with Content Center parts.

Or temporarily change the specification of those directories from being Library to non-library directories. Then make your changes, then turn the specification back on.

OMG! I can't believe I didn't think about doing that. Worked like a charm. 👍
