topic How did one parameter end up in "Model" and NOT "User?" in Inventor Forum

Hello to all: Please see the attached images. This was never an issue before, but now we are using our models in a third-party-developed solution, and they tell me that certain Parameters MUST be in "User". I inherited these models from a previous employee and did not build them from scratch myself.

The developer is asking about the "BF (Between Frame)" parameter. How could it have ended up where it is, and can I move this parameter from "Model" to User" to accommodate his request? Thanks for any help!

They are different models.

You can rename any parameter you like pretty much.

Just click on the parameter name and change it. I assume someone has renamed a main parameter instead of creating it in user first.

You can drive click parameters and copy them to the user part.

Or you can add a load of user ones and then reference these in the model section.

Re-naming the parameter is not the issue, the developer says it needs to show up as a USER parameter and NOT a MODEL parameter. The straight bed IS correct, the spiral curve is NOT correct.

Test this out.

Rename the Model Parameter BF.

Create a new User Parameter (now Rename in my example) named BF.

Set the original Model Parameter to equal BF User Parameter.
