Drawing View - Grid Lines/Rulers

Is there a toggle/switch to allow for Rulers/Grid lines within the drawing IDW module. It would help with the alignment of drawing/dimension items (balloons, text, dimensions). Yes, I know about snap-dragging Balloons from another Balloon for alignment.

Or is this a feature request/enhancement that should be posted on the Inventor Idea's page.

Alternatively you can create a sketch in your idw and constrain your annotations to the sketch you have created.

I guess this would work if you create a grid pattern of Horizontal and Vertical lines on the sketch you create so that you have something to work with using the annotation tools within the IDW environment.

Not really a solution, it would be faster to pan the drawing so you can use the edge of the monitor as an alignment guide.

Hi! There isn't an out-of-box option to do that. I have heard this request before though. You could create a sketch symbol so it can be reused in the future. You can make it invisible afterwards.

Sometimes i use a free & open source app called "Meazure" to show a grid on the display for other drawing Apps (Windows OS). Maybe can help for Inventor too.

Grids dimension can be changed from Tools - Display grid spacing.

Grids color can be changed from Edit - tools - lines - color

I tend to just drag the drawing area to the edge of the drawing window & use the vertical & horizontal edges for alignment.
