Convert multiple .dwg files to .ipt files

Hi,

I have large folders full of 3D dwg files that I want to convert to ipt files. Is there a way to convert all the files at once?

Try Task Scheduler.

Create an "Import Files" task and select DWG for input and IPT for output:

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply. I tried task scheduler yesterday and again this morning but I receive the error message 'the output type is incorrect' in the log file. Do you know what this error means?

I've attached screenshots of the settings I used to run the task and the error message.

You need to run through the process manually and configure the import options - save that configuration file - then use it with Task Scheduler.

If you get stuck, I've attached the configuration.ini file I created to prove the process. You will need to edit the destination path because it is set to c:\temp (use Notepad.exe or similar).

Thanks for your reply, I continued to have the same issue after making the config file but it turned out to be a One Drive file location issue.

Once I moved the input and output file locations onto my local drive it worked perfectly.
