Another "solution" would not require the dummy part.

Simply use the Input Grapher to make the Imposed Motion of one of the Revolution Joints a ratio of Imposed Motion on the other Revolution Joint. Actually, now that I think about it - it is even easier than that. Don't need to use the Input Grapher. Just set the ratio in the Imposed Motion.

Hey everyone,

I'm kind of new to Inventor simulations and I think this might be just a quick fix.

I have an inner shaft and the outside case of a motor, as the shaft rotates in one direction the case should rotate in the opposite direction. I can get this to work in the assembly using a motional constraint no problem but when I port it to dynamic sim they wont rotate together like that. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance and I have attached the .iam file.

Best Wishes

Parts are missing from your attachment. I simply do a dynamic simulation in Inventor 2022, see the attachment.

Thanks for getting back to me,

I've downloaded your simple system and will try to see what the difference is.

I've attached the parts I used and the assembly again. Let me know what you think.

Thanks again

I see that you basically imposed two counter motions on the cylinder and shaft but is there no way to make one respond to the other?

Thanks for helping me with the solution!

This works perfectly, never would have occurred to me to make a dummy sketch and add two joints. Really appreciate it.

Also really enjoy your youtube content, have learned a lot.

Best Wishes
