Model States function problem

Hi,

We've recently updated to Inventor 22. I created a part with two different model states and want to be able to switch them in an assembly. However, I can't choose the second model state.

I've found a solution. You can't change the model state of the parts in under-assembly. You have to open under-assembly in a separate window and change it from there.

I've actually found a solution already. It was a simple thing. I pasted the part in top-assembly and was able to change the model state, so that told me that the function is working as it is supposed to. The solution was to open under-assembly in a new window and change the model state from there.

Hi Folks,

This is the way Model States works. When you edit the component in place, other Model State cannot be activated. It is because when a component has non-Master Model States, it becomes more like standalone. Any inter-component relationship (adaptive or derive) cannot be figured on Model States table.
