I do not think Frame Analysis is an option because I have critical plate parts in my model that contribute to the structure that cannot be analyzed in that environment.

I am having difficulty adding constraints, loads and meshing the simplified part I created from a structural assembly of mine. Inventor appears to freeze up whenever I try to save the file after performing any of these functions. Can someone point out what I am doing wrong?

Right off the start, your part has unresolved connections, as it relies on a linked assembly not included here:

I would recommend breaking that link by doing a "Copy Object" (3D Model tab > Modify > Copy Object, select all your current solid bodies and pick Repaired Geometry as output), then deleting the IAM reference from the browser pane (and all its solid bodies will go with it, leaving only the new unchained ones).

Then, break links with all existing simulation sub-files (one by one), and try again:

Hi! Though the assembly has been simplified, the geometry is still quite heavy for Inventor FEA. The structure looks like a pattern. I believe you need to simplify even further. Analyze a small portion with known distributed load. Gradually expand the portion. If it does not work for a small portion, the entire model won't work either.

Many thanks!

Tetrahedral mesh elements do not work well with extreme aspect ratio (long skinny parts).

You should be using beam elements in Frame Analysis.
