automatic global update not working

After switching to inventor 2022, my global update does not automatically execute even though my "defer update" setting is not checked. The automatic local update is working as is should be. The same thing is happening to my co-workers. Is this a bug or possibly a different setting that got changed?

Do you have "Enable background updates" on?

has there been any outcome for this problem?

We recently moved to INV 2022 and our designers now also report of this missing global update behaviour.

Are there any settings we need to do?

Or does anyone have a workaround?

Hi Michael,

I am not aware of any systematic failure like this. It could be a different issue or it has been resolved on 2022.4 update. Please make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and the graphics driver is updated. Then install 2022.4 update followed by the latest double-dot update to 2022.4.

Feel free to share an example that exhibits the behavior here. The forum experts can help take a look.

Hi Johnson,

I will try to setup a check with 2022.4.

The behaviour we see is that we are opening an IDW and it shows the pending update icon (yellow lightning) on several views in the model browser. However at the same time the global update button in the top header line of Inventor is not active and cannot be used. Also when selecting a view the single update button in the top header line gets highlighted and on a click Inventor works but nothing is changed other than the single update button is not highlighted anymore. All update pending views in the browser still have the yellow update icon on them.

Not sure if I just expect wrong behaviour but my estimation woudl be that in case anything has the pending update in the model browser then also the global update button should be highlighted and usable.

And also I would expect that the update buttons stay highlighted and usable when they are used but there are still updates pending on the respective views.
