The typical workflow I've seen is to have a "template" project file that gets copied and renamed. It's a little bit of a workaround though. They should incorporate pulling from a template into the new project button in my opinion, instead of entirely from scratch. On that note, here's an idea forum post to vote on for improving the new project creation.
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/project-file-template/idi-p/8936622

I am working in a colaborative environment here and we have our content center LIBRARY in a location on our company network. Currently, we have Inventor storing the content center FILES in a location also on the network. This is working ok so far. We also have folders on the network for different tooling projects. Each folder and project has it's own Inventor project file. My question is this: Can Inventor be set up so that under File- options-application options- default Content Center Files- dialog box, always point to the same folder that the project file is created in? That way, all of the hardware etc, will always be in the same folder as all the parts and assemblies.

Thanks,

John

If I'm understanding you correctly, you want the content center pieces that are used for each project stored with the rest of the files in the project? Under each project file in the folder options, you can set a specific folder to use for the content center files for the active project. Inventor should then save to and look in that location for content center files with the project active. I'm not sure if there's a generic string you could put in this field to make it always the same folder relative to the project file workspace ("something like [Workspace]\Models\Content Center Files")or if you manually have to enter it in as an absolute path like "C:\Projects\21103\Models\Content Center Files".

It should be noted that this is something that could be a royal pain to change for all existing projects depending on how many you have and how large the files are. If you do want to change it for existing projects, make one assembly that contains all other assemblies from the project and do a pack and go from the save menu to have inventor round up the content center files for you before you change the location.

Is there any way now to set this as default project behavior, or do you still need to overwrite each created project?

If not, in my view this is not a solution, just bypass costing lots of time if multiple small projects are being realised.

Best way to do so, would be possibility to set .\ContentCenter\ in app options as default folder.

You create a project file (.ipj) that you will copy every time you need to create a new project. At my last job we created hundreds of new projects each year; to set one up all we had to do was copy our "template" folder structure which contained the template project file, and then change the names of the root folder and the included project file.
