How to improve graphics performance of Inventor 2020 running on Apple Silicon through Parallels

I know that it is a fairly small community of users who are trying to get Inventor to run on Apple Silicon. It is possible with the Windows 11 Preview (for ARM), Parallels 17 (the Apple Silicon M1 version) and the regular Win64 download of Inventor 2020 (mine is Build 168). Inventor 2022 does not work. It cannot display any 3D models. I haven’t tried Inventor 2021.

My problem with Inventor 2020 is that the graphics performance is extremely slow. If anyone has suggestions on how to tweak my configuration, in order to fix that, I would be most grateful.

Have you tried both "Software Graphics" and "Conservative" options under Tools (tab) > Application Options > Hardware?

Could be a folder access issue:

Check your local disc to confirm you have those folders in those locations, and maybe perform a reinstall. I think maybe Inventor's installation failed to fully deploy or deploy to locations it can reach by default.

It had something to do with file system sharing between host OS and guest OS that got in the way. I turned it off like so:

This does work, but is unusable on a M1 Pro, even with the most simple models. Graphics performance just isnt there. Or is this different for you @DhoffmannFFM3X ?

I already gave the VM 8 cores and 16GB Memory and disabled Software Graphics in Inventor.

EDIT: I tested this on a 4k external monitor. Using the internal monitor improves the performance considerably. Also changing the graphics options in Parallels from "Best for Retina" to "Scaled". This causes the resolution of Windows to lower considerably. It doesnt look as good anymore, but is a lot faster! Depending on model size and resolution quite usable.

I join in. Same problem with Inventor 2022 .3.1.

Inventor is incredibly slow. Fusion360 runs fast as hell on my Parallels VM with 8 Core (M1 MAX) 48 GB Memory but Inventor strikes if i open only 2 models.

Tried all the graphic option in Inventor. No difference.

No difference.

I guess its an Inventor-Problem. Revit 2022 and Fusion360 2023 work as they should on the same VM.

But it's look not they way it should to be on my 4.5K$ Mac Studio with 4K+2K Monitor 😫
