Ghost Images in the machine

I need help, please. On the attachments, there are 2 images one is a snapshot of the page in question from Inventor the other is the print to PDF output and it has added my screwdriver used elsewhere in the document. I can not get rid of the Ghost image. it has appeared in one of my other documents as well but with a different part. Any assistance is valued

Hi There,
No, that Item is not even on that page it was inserted and manipulated on
the tools page
I have the same thing on another page in another assembly. No One here can
explain it and it cant be edited.

@abodezign i think @CGBenner meant that you have attached the same image to your opening post twice.

There is no image showing your PDF output with the screw driver you mention....

What happens if you copy that particular sheet to a new drawing and export it?

Or, if you recreate that specific view on a new drawing?

If it doesn't contain the screwdriver then your drawing with the large amount of sheets might be corrupted.

It's hard to say anything useful without seeing the actual problem, it might even be that the screwdriver is set to "reference" and the associated layer is turned off but still gets printed/exported...

The one image shows a plan view with the screwdriver and the other is the
file from inventor snapshot I can do them again. The file does not copy the
page another thing I cant figure out

In your first post. You shared with us the same image file twice. You did not share a screen capture showing us the ghost screwdriver.

We are missing the view with the screwdriver in your first post, so it would be helpful if you can post that again.

Not entirely sure what you meant here, but if you can't figure out the copying of a sheet then just skip that suggestion for now.

Try the other suggestion of setting up a single sheet from the same assembly file first.

You can also check the BOM status of the screwdriver (for the part and within the assembly, if overridden) and report that back here.

Hi @abodezign

Please make sure to apply all updates for your Inventor version. Not sure which version you are using. There was a leaked preview issue in Inventor 2020/2021 which was fixed. The issue was related to some left over preview graphics left on the drawing sheet after an edit of a drawing view (aux or base view). But that would show up on your sheet not just on your print preview. If you can post the drawing here, then we can take a look.

I would recommend making a copy of the drawing, then deleting all the sheets which are ok leaving behind only the problematic sheet. This will help reduce the size of the file.

This is what I think you are talking about - In sheet9 - you have a screw shown in the center of the screen. A view appears to have leaked. Its not exactly similar to the previous leak I was mentioning but its definitely something along those lines. This one seems like a view (View183) with no parent sheet floating around.

Do you remember how this happened or if you have any steps to reproduce, that would be great. I can try it out and see what the problem is.

If not, then as a workaround, I would copy the individual views to a different sheet and delete the problematic sheet. You should be able to salvage your existing views that way.

Hi! ~~To add to Shiva's workaround, you can copy the entire sheet from this drawing to a new drawing. You don't need to copy views individually.~~

Please ignore my comments. The views are corrupted. They need to be copied and pasted individually.
