I have an open drawing and design doctor tells me I have unattached centerlines.
I then try and select all the unattached centerlines through design doctor and then the screen does a dance all over the place and then only deletes one centerline whereas in the previous version it deleted all.
See screencast link

https://autode.sk/3JejiLA

Hi Johnson

The file that I used has been fixed and I already deleted the unattached centerlines one by one.
You can recreate the same situation by modeling a part with a few holes then draw a section through the holes and then add automatic centerlines. Then go back to the model and delete those holes and you will have unattached centerlines

Hi Anthony,

The drawing dimensions are already sick. Unfortunately, it is impossible to tell what triggered the sickness. It could be due to a change in the model geometry or the component definition. Or it is a bug. This is why I am asking for files before the dimensions became sick and also the steps to reproduce it.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson
Its easy to reproduce.
Model a plate and add 3 holes in the plate.

make a drawing of the plate and add the center lines.
Go back to the model and delete the holes.

Go back to the drawing and you will then find unattached centerlines.

Hi Anthony,

Many thanks for clarification! I guess you expect the center lines to be removed (not becoming sick), when the holes are gone, right? I believe this can be controlled by a document setting. Open the drawing and go to Tools -> Doc Settings -> Drawing -> Invalid Annotations -> uncheck "Highlight." Then those sick center lines will be gone.

Thanks again!

Hi Anthony,

I see the issue now. It is about the ability to delete multiple sick annotations in Design Doctor dialog. The behavior does look funky. And the annotations are not deleted. I will work with the project team to understand it better. In the meantime, please use Doc Settings to remove the sick annotations.

Many thanks!

I do this (in the meantime):

Step 1: Temporarily move the drawing view(s) to the side. The unattached centerlines will stay put, and you can delete multiples at once by windowing them (that should allow you to get most of them).

Step 2: Move the drawing view back where it was.

Step 3: If there are more unattached ones in Design Doctor, that are present and you can't see them, these will then have to be deleted one-by-one in Design Doctor.

I just had this behavior on a drive shaft with 12 key slots (for sprockets), where the slots had to be remodeled. Consequently the drawing lost all center mark references for the slots (2x12). The "dancing" caused by Design Doctor was spontaneous "slow TV"... 😄 😴💤

@johnsonshiue Any news on this bug?
I just check INVGEN-83144. The latest status shows it has been fixed on an internal build targeting the future release. I don't think there is a plan to port the fix backward. Please feel free to contact Autodesk Product Support to demand porting the fix backward.

Hi Miroslav,

The enhancement is strictly limited to the manual "Retrieve Model Annotations" command in the drawing. It is not expanded to the automatically retrieving model dimensions workflow. The reason is that if all model dimensions are retrieved automatically, the user will need to delete those duplicate dimensions wherever they are not desirable.

To retrieve a duplicate model dimension, the user needs to use "Retrieve Model Annotations" command explicitly.

Many thanks!
