Thread feature dialog - Human readable pipe thread size selection

Hello, this is how my Thread dialog looks like when pipe threads are selected. I have to select it by nominal size (in mm). It would be nice to see what size (in G+fraction) it means.

This is how the thread.xls sheet looks like

According to help page About the Thread Data Spreadsheet in Size column has to be "nominal diameter size of the thread as a decimal value".

Is possible to make it more readable?

And is safe to change it in long time and widely used thread.xls?

I'm not sure of any problems you may run into with existing parts if the thread data is modified as I'm not sure what Autodesk uses as the internal identifier to link a hole to the specific row.. Their help states ipart/content center parts may have issues if rows are deleted but doesn't talk about changing things like the size row..

You can edit the worksheets to: Change the sort order. Revise custom thread designations. Revise custom thread type names. Add a custom thread type or clearance hole type.

I was able to modify the "size" column of the thread.xls file to achieve something like this if you want and didn't see where that caused any issues.

I simply added (G 1/8) to the size column after the decimal value.

Thanks. Seems promising. I would be happier when someone from devs confirms it's safe to change data in SIZE column.

Hi! Yes, it is fine to change any value on the Thread table, as long as the value type and the value itself are sensical. Also, you may want to distinguish the particular spec from the original shipping standard spec. Otherwise, you could have two different holes but named the same depending on which table to use. Some users do create custom tables to avoid the confusion.
