I am using Inventor LT 2018. Could I make a new .idw template from a dwg file with custom border and title block?

Yes, but I have never used LT, so I would assume you could still do it. You can do File > Open > select dwg file > options > import > choose to either be New Title block, Border etc. then edit as needed. Also, could start a new drawing, define a new title block > use the ACAD option in the Insert Panel and choose the acad file that way. Just a thought.

Hi! Another way to do it with the least amount of effort is to simply drop the dwg file in Inventor template folder. Start a new drawing with the dwg file. You will get the same sheet format as you had in AutoCAD.

However, if you want to populate title block information based on the view source model, you will need to recreate the title block. You can still use the dwg file as a guide when you rebuild the template.

Thanks - I tried opening the dwg file within Inventor, but for some reason the dimensions were in inches, instead of millimetres.

Hi! You may want to open the dwg file in AutoCAD and set MEASUREMENT to 1. Also, set UNITS to mm.
