How to update file to current inventor release (2023)

I just installed inventor 2023. I'm trying to use design assistant and am being told "the following file need to be updated to the current Autodesk Inventor release before they can be edited". I have opened the file and hit "save" and that doesn't resolve the issue. What do I need to do?

You can use migrate:

If you have a lot of files, you can use task schedular:

You can also go to tools...application options..Save tab and see if "Migration" is set to Yes/Save(Default Condition)

With each new release you will also want to migrate all of your templates and styles,etc...

If you go to the "Tools" menu you will see a "Migrate Settings" button that should walk you through that process.

Hi! To run Task Scheduler 2023, you will need to first register Inventor 2023 (last run). Could you elaborate the exact issue you have?

Figured it out. There was a single file from a library that had not been migrated and it caused all upper assemblies to be locked out in Design Assistant.

Hello,

I am having the same issue. I followed the instructions but still get the message.

Also, I am seeing in the Migrate Custom Settings a message stating "Migrate settings from: Inventor 2021". I believe the last version we had was 2019. Will this pose an issue with the instructions you have provided?

I'm a new user with Autodesk Inventor.

Hi! Please install 2023.0.1 update and 2023.2 update, followed by 2023.2.1 update. If it still fails, please share the setting xml file you are trying to migrate.
