The error messages are: Separate figure and instability. I do not understand why i get the "seperate figure" error. The frame was first drawn as a sketch and then moved to an assembly file, where the insert frame command was used. I then used miter and notch to remove all the interferences. Can anyone please help me i have tried for many days and dont understand

Hi! I opened Chassis assembly1.iam and activated Frame Analysis environment. There was not a study. Please share the files with an analysis so forum experts can help take a look.

Many thanks!

Bent or merged frame members are a "no" for Frame Analysis. You'll need to break those curves into a few line segments as an approximation.

Your tube intersections have been done manually (lots of extra features) - and they aren't necessary for Frame Analysis.

Frame Analysis only reads the layout shape and mechanical properties of the frame members - not the actual geometry of the part files. This is what makes it powerful - you can test (and refine) your ideas quickly without the extra work of tidying up connection details. Only when the design works mechanically do you put in the remaining effort to clean it up for fabrication. If you want to test bent pipe, you need to go to the FEA tools.

I also noticed you have some tubes which pass through each other (e.g the "X" bracing on the floor). Since tubes can't pass through each other in reality, so there should be at least 3 pieces of tube. If you edit the layout accordingly, Frame Analysis will put a node at the intersection - which is important if you want the analysis to work.

Thank you for a fast reply! Here is a new zipfile with a frame analysis that does not work

@256394

Same issues as reported by @pcrawley.

The Frame Analysis uses only straight line beam elements for analysis.

Replace curved sections with appropriate number of straight sections to simplify.

(Hopefully the curved sections are not in areas of high concern.)

You should have a Node or Rigid Link at each intersection.

If you expand the Status you can get indication of the issues.

You can then expand the nodes and right click Find in Window any particular Node of interest.

In this example I replace curved elements with straight line elopements.
