HOW TO MAKE CIRCLES CONCENTRIC NOT IN THE SAME SKETCH

Can someone PLEASE show me how to make relations to edges that are not in the same sketch?

I have projected the edge, made sure it is flat and planar so it's not an elliptical edge, but Inventor is not letting me select the yellow projected edge as a constraint.

Incredibly frustrating for how simple it should be.

It would be much easier to give you some advice if you attached the model file, or at least a few screenshots where we could see what needs to be done....

Hi! The only logical reason I can think of is that the "circle" isn't a circle, though it looks like it. Try using Measure tool to check the "circle." Does the radial value come up?

It should be as easy as they get!! The circles need to be concentric, but Inventor will not acknowledge the existing edge- even when I project the geometry :*(

Are you constraining the Center Point? Or are you trying to constrain the edge?

Use the Equal or Tangent Constraint for the circle edges. Use a Coincident constraint for the Center of the Circle. Easy peasy!

Never claimed to know the answer. It COULD be concentric circles but that doesn't seem to work. It SHOULD be simple- but it's new.

Hi New_to_Inventor,

It should work as you expect it to. But since it does not it is likely due to geometry specific to your file. If you can not post your work file, you might create a simple example part to share that will demonstrate the issue you are seeing, so that others can better understand the geometry involved.
