"Lock" assembly view in component drawing, to avoid needing to release assembly.

Hi guys! I have a drawing of a component where I also want to include a view of the assembly where it belongs. But this messes a bit with my vault functions.

Is there a way to "lock" the view of the assembly, so that the component is not dependent on the assembly is released?

Hope someone has an idea for this!

Not sure I completely understand the problem and why vault would cause issues. Inventor does not have the capability to lock a single drawing view. However, you can defer the entire document and put it in a state where it does not update when the source model changes.

1. If you don't want your drawing to update when the assembly is changed, you can 'defer it' so that it does not

recompute the views. Doing this will affect and put the whole drawing in a deferred state

- In the Ribbon goto Tools + Document Settings + Drawing Tab + Defer Updates = check
