Hi! I am sorry I am still clueless about this one. 2023.1 update was just released. If possible, please install it and see if it makes a difference. If you happen to have the "Prehighlighting" turned off (Tools -> App Options -> Colors), a regression in 2023.1 may prevent you from selecting objects in the graphics window.

You may either turn on the Prehighlighting option or unload "Fusion Interop" Add-In to avoid the problem before a fix becomes available.

Many thanks!

If I set the line type to dashed and then project geometry, select other, closed loop the projected lines are always solid? Is this a bug or is my method incorrect?

It is very annoying to have to keep editing the line type of projected loops to dashed.

Reason: Where possible it seems I try to follow the BORN type of sketch constraints. But where this is not possible, if I have to project geometry I use a dashed line and form solid line sketches for the construction of features, this means if the link to the projected geometry is broken I can re-establish the links with new dashed lines.

Nice option, not the solution.

Sadly I tried this but I still get the same behaviour, as if I had selected a dashed line type without choosing construction geometry line types, when projected, single items do convert to dashed lines or construction geometry.

However closed loops still project as solid lines? (As another option, even on changing the default line type),

The only property change that will hold for projected closed loops is the colour?

Hi Douglas,

I am sorry I am not seeing the behavior on 2023.0.1. I tried two workflows and both behave expectedly.

1) Before projecting the face loop, go to Format -> change line type to anything other than Default.

2) Go to Tools -> App Options -> Sketch -> check "Project objects as construction geometry."

Please share a video or a screenshot exhibiting the behavior.

Many thanks!

Hi Douglas,

Many thanks for recording the video! The behavior is indeed intriguing. While I am still not able to reproduce it, I am wondering if it could be Sketch format related. Edit the sketch and go to Format section -> expand the panel -> what is the line type set to "Default" or "Continuous"?

Thanks again!

Hi Johnson,

I've tried several options I even opened the programme in English (I use the french version)

Still the same,

I do not know if there is a relationship between line type and colour, but changing the colour setting does give consistent results. ie set the colour to red and all of the projected geometry is red.

Johnson

I've spotted today that the line format is correct when projecting a closed loop in an assembly.

ie

If I create or edit a sketch on one part and project a closed loop geometry from another part to form the part of the sketch the projected geometry follows the line format rules.
