Hi!

I guess... this depends on how version steps or sat are exported.

For older sat or step files you have different open options.

Nowadays is more common to open these files as a multisolid. Anyway, you can turn that mulsisolid into an assembly quickly.

Inventor 2023 won't ask me if I want to import a .sat file as a part file or as an assembly. I need the ability to do either just like it was back in Inventor 2020.

For instance, if the original file was a multi-solid, Inventor will import it as such? Or if the file was an assembly, then it would import as an assembly? I honestly dont remember

If the .SAT file opens as an assembly by default, you have the option to open as a part by starting a new part and using the Import tool to bring the .SAT file in.

Hi! I am not aware of a behavioral change here. I still see the dialog prompting me in 2023 if I want to import it as a Part, an Assembly, or a Composite. Please try using Default project and see if it works. Maybe there is something wrong with the templates on your machine.

Many thanks!
