Do I have any way of combining the mirrored solid into one body?

I need to use the attached as a structural shape. However, structural shape authoring dialog only seems to want to use the "original" solid body rather than the both the original and the mirrored body, which is what I need.

@theycallmevirgo, I think you can just create a new solid in this same part by projecting the geometry of the profile and using new solid, and then selecting that solid to author to the structural shape library.

I didn't follow this all the way through the authoring process, but it seems like it picks up the correct shape. See recording.

Yeah, that does in fact create a single body but now frame member author doesn't find any geometry it can use :(.

I was wondering about that, I wasn't sure what all it needed... it's been a while since I've published a frame member.

I think you're best bet is to remodel the part, and mirror the profile in the sketch before extruding.

I like the approach you used for general modeling, but it looks like it just doesn't work for authoring frame shapes.

I'll double check later, but it seems when I try your technique on my end I don't even generate any geometry frame gen authoring likes. O well.

ETA: NVM I could just select the new body in the browser.

Yeah it made it through the authoring. I'm going to take a few hours to decide if I want to rebuild as you suggested or use "as is". I have a few other parts that depend on parameters from this thing.

The long and short of it is, I can't get it to behave consistently with anything other than doing all features in one sketch. @johnsonshiue, any thoughts?
