Custom Object Defaults Style not saving to Styles Library

Can someone verify if this process is correct because my one of my styles are not being saved to drawing template.

Goal -> I want 4 different Object Default styles

Notes: I have successfully created 4 Dimension Styles that the 4 new Object Defaults will utilize. This is also setup in my custom Standard which is set to read/write

Workflow for creating new style

1-open template file (not create new drawing)

2-open Styles Editor from the manage tab

3-verify custom standard is set to active (yes)

4- proceed to Objects Default, click on Objects Default (ANSI)

5-press new, name new style and ensure add to standard is checked

6-fset filter to Dimension Objects, update Object Style to my custom Dimension Style

7-press save and repeat until all 4 Object Defaults are completed

8-press done and close Style Editor

9-Press save and yes to all (from within the Manage Tab->Styles and Standards on the ribbon)

10-Save and close template file

When re-opening the template file directly or by creating a new drawing, the Object Defaults that I created are not there. I have done this process a few times to ensure I didn't miss a step, I even added the Object defaults in one at a time and saved but the results is the same. Sometimes, one of the 4 Object defaults stay saved but not all 4 of them.

This is puzzling as I was able to create 4 different dimension styles and save successfully. It must be something I am not doing right or missing.

I am using Inventor 2016

If you click on your "teksign_2022" standard, then go to the Object defaults tab > you will see the ACTIVE Object default is "ft[mm]. A standard can only use (1) object default at a time.

You can make different standards to assign different object defaults. Then when the drawing is started choose which standard to use, or edit your standard and choose the object default style to use for your single stanard.

It appears you are doing this so when you activate a style it uses a specific dimension style, but why when you can choose from the dim style drop down when creating a dimensions? Just curious

I want a template where I can select an Dimension Style and apply it through out the drawing on startup using iLogic.
I created the custom Dimension Styles and edited them to my liking, tolerances and such.
My next thought was to create custom Object Defaults so that I can associate the custom Dimension Styles.
Once I have this setup, then I was going to create a rule that would apply the Dim Style I want by calling out the custom Object Default. I know I can change this but I like the iLogic approach, automates the drawing process by a few clicks, automation also, for the most part removes possible errors when updating anything manually.

So that being said, are you saying that I can't create more than one object default? I understand I can't utilize more than one, but that is fine, I am trying to.

You can have multiple Object defaults as you have made, it is just a standard can only use one of them styles at a time. If you know of a way with ilogic to go to you current standard > Object default tab > then switch that. Then it should work. All you are doing is just telling the current standard what to use for a default. Pleases see the attached video to help explain what I am trying to interpret you doing.

This is where my problem is, I have managed to create 1 of 4 custom Object defaults,

on the previously attached template, there is the one default style and one that I was able to successfully ad and save to styles library. Whenever I try to ad the remaining 3, they do not save in the styles library.

Because each standard only have one Object Default.

Other not used in Standard are not saved with the Standard.

You need a Standard for each Object Default.

Since you're using iLogic. Make a list in iLogic for different sets of Object Default.

The filter in the upper right hand corner of the Style Library > make sure that is set to "ALL Styles"

I was assuming this was why the new styles were not saving.

I created this post to confirm but also wasn't 100% because an user an actually create new styles within the Object Defaults and proceed to save them. I don't understand why an user can do these steps if the program doesn't actually allow multiple Object Default Styles.

I know the simplest is to just create 4 drawing templates and set each on up as I like but where is the fun and challenge in that. I like have an master template that can be setup with iLogic to establish my drawing needs.

You could always check that they are in the styles by going to Start > Autodesk XXXX (your version) Style Library Manager > In Style Library 1 choose your current project and then click on the Object defaults, they should appear (if they are there).

I have gotten that far yet, haha, my iLogic skills are at an amateur's level. I found this old post that I was going to try and utilize once I had my styles setup.

I don't fully comprehend why the styles don't appear when the filter is set to local styles, I assumed that my Teksign2022 was indeed a local style. However going to Library Manager, I can in fact see the the Object Default Styles are there. Alright, so now I attempt to create a rule and pull the Object defaults. If I have any issues (likely) I will post next door in the iLogic forum.
