Inventor 2023 change to dialog prompt options

In previous versions of Inventor, whenever a prompt would appear, the default option (what gets selected if I hit the "Enter" or "Space" key) would always be yes, but with Inventor 2023, it changed to be whatever the last selected option was. I hate this change because I don't always remember what the last thing I selected, and it hampers my workflow where I would previously just hit "Enter" or "Space" knowing what that button would do. But this slows me down because I generally don't know what will be the selected option and have to resort to using the mouse. And yes, I know I can use "Y", "N", or "Esc", but it is less intuitive than using the bigger buttons. So this just feels like Autodesk fixing something that wasn't broken and making a new problem.

With that said, is there any way for me to change this setting, or do I have to live with this annoying change?

Hi! The prompt is controlled by Tools -> App Options -> Save. In your case, the prompt is due to change made to the Inventor file. The prompt frequency can be controlled by the double-arrow button in the prompt dialog.

You completely misunderstood the issue. This has nothing to do with the save prompt in particular. My issue is that the default option for prompts in general is whatever the last selected option was instead of "yes". I posted that screenshot so you could see that default option that is highlighted is "cancel" since that was the last one that was selected. This new behavior is less consistent than the old behavior that just had "yes" as the default every time a prompt appeared.

Hi! I am sorry if I misunderstood the issue. But, I think the particular save prompt is indeed controlled by Tools -> App Options -> Save. You may want to try it. For other non-Save related prompt dialogs, they should be controlled in Tools -> App Options -> Prompts.

Hi Johnson, I think this user is asking about the default response to this prompt. They claim it used to default to YES but now remembers "last used". There is nothing in the settings that control this, that I can see.

I am sorry I misunderstood the request. Indeed, the current default as of 2023 follows last used. I am not aware of a way to change the behavior.
