Hi Joel,

If you want to leverage LOD-like workflows in T&P assemblies, I suggest you use Design View (right-click on the migrated Model State -> Copy to Design View Rep). It will not alter the BOM just like LOD.

In the drawing, the PartsList can filter based on the component visibility.

Another option is to use iLogic and Model State.

Many thanks!

Hello @johnsonshiue

Thank you for your quick reply.

Our objective here is:

We want to make a Model State of the main project with only the parts we need to build at site, so we can export a BOM based on this Model State (we build things in house and on site).

Problem:

It's not possible to suppress parts inside the pipe runs using Model States.

Do you know if there is any kind of iLogic to do this?

Is the implementation of Model States planned for Tube & Pipe, etc?

Best Regards

Yes i know this.
What i dont know is, why Autodesk quit LoD from this environments (that modify BOM) without a solution to replace this.

Hi! Just to clarify a bit, there isn't workflow loss here. If you want to preserve the LOD-like behavior, you can still do that with Design View Rep. Neither LOD nor Design View Rep changes the BOM.

The ability to suppress a component across levels isn't supported by Model States. Such relationship cannot be captured on the table. If you leveraged iLogic IsActive() to suppress a component in 2021 and earlier, you would have two states Master LOD (no components suppressed) vs a non-Master LOD (some components suppressed via IsActive() = False).

The same workflow is still available in Model States. You can still use IsActive() to suppress the sub components. The difference is that once the sub components are suppressed, they remain suppressed until they are unsuppressed.

Please feel free to share an example if you cannot get the desirable behavior using iLogic IsActive().

Many thanks!
