Quick Access Toolbar

My Quick Access Menu in assembly keeps disappearing. I'm not going to re-install, load default and re-set nothing, so tired of trying to fix this thing....can't even save! Loaded the latest update etc.....nothing!

What happens if you select the option for customize "show below the ribbon"

Hi. This is 2022 with the latest update. The "show below the ribbon" is greyed out in the .iam environment. It works fine in the .ipt environment.

I did get it back after resetting the ribbons to default but it works for about a day and you can see the menu getting smaller and smaller.....all I have now is this shown below in the .iam.

Not sure why they are not going through but in the .ipt environment I can choose materials and colours and save etc. In the .iam environment I cannot, those tabs used to be there but have now disappeared. And Show Quick Access toolbar below the Ribbon is greyed out.

If I pull down the tab, all I have is New and Open from Vault.

Hi Justin,

In an assembly, Material Browser does not show the available material styles. It is because an assembly (except Weldment) does not have the concept of unified material. Only a part can have a material style. Other QAT should remain there unless they are incompatible with the assembly environment.

In the assembly environment you can change the material. Select “Select” from the QAT (if you are lucky enough to have one), choose Part and change the color material etc.

The menu is just not loading in the assembly environment anymore….I don’t even have the save tab anymore, need to pull down the menu from the I (top left) and save from there.

Anyway, I will just battle along, I see on other forums others are complaining about the exact same thing and the answer from Autodesk is: “Right click on the ribbon and select from the drop down”. We can if it was working,

I have the same issues. Running build 271, release: 2023.2 - date: mon. 10/31/2022. Lateset update installed.

Quick access missing in assembly files. But shows in part files.

Has either of you tried the Inventor Reset Utility to see if it helps or not?

Yes, the utility works like a bomb….perfect. I just don’t want to do that everyday which is now the case. Re-set everything…..then gradually the QAT get’s smaller and smaller…..like the tabs are evaporating. End of today I will have no menu left, then tomorrow Re-set using the Utility and then watch them disappear during the day.

This sounds very bizarre. You may want to open an actual support case on this one. But it seems hardware related to me, or it would be happening to all users across the board. I'd be very curious to know what would cause it to get smaller. Do you mean smaller in actual size, or in terms of what tools are included?

Correct….I did no changes to this machine (there may have been one of those irritating windows updates) and all of a sudden the QAT disappeared and I wondered aimlessly amongst all the settings trying to find the gremlin but to no avail. Did the Utility thing and voila, it was back, so I kept an eye on it and one by one, the tabs/buttons disappeared….like first the material tab, then the fx tab then update tab etc. Everytime I go to and fro from .ipt to .iam….one tab would make a run for it! Like right now, my .ipt is fine, go to .iam and it’s all gone, all I have right now is New and Open from Vault…..even Save has gone….like even Save saved itself from my .iam!

Hi,

In the .iam environment, my menu doesn't look like yours....it used to, but not anymore. My "Show Below the Ribbon" is greyed out and compared to yours, all I have is "New" and "Open from Vault" in that drop down list. My .ipt is fine, just the .iam isn't working.

I'm using Inventor 2022 with the latest update.
