Inventor Part Corrupt Feature (Mirror operation)

Hi All,

Really hoping you can help with my issue. I'm working on multi-body part file for many months already and recently I was creating body mirror. The operation took surpridingly long time to compute, and after that, the file seems to be unusable. I cannot do anything further, cannot remove that feature, cannot move EOP above that feature. Any of this attempts ending up with complete freeze of Inventor. What I also noticed, the file size grown from around 100MB to nearly 450MB after this operation. I tried to retrieve my file from OldVersions, but unfortunately I have default to save onr copy and that was too late for it.

Has anyone had this kind of issue in the past, and managed to resolve it? Many thanks for any help in advance.

Hi! The behavior does not sound right. What release of Inventor are you using? Please share the file here or send it to me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com.

I would like to understand the corruptive Mirror behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

Many thanks for your reply. I have sent the link to download the problematic part file to your email address. If you can look and let me know if you have any solution, that would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Many thanks for sending me the file! Please unshare it now. I have finished downloading. I took a quick look at the file. Indeed, it is a memory leak issue. The corruption is related to certain associativity tracking data is replicated unnecessarily when an Extrude feature is edited. This is a defect. It has been resolved on 2022.2. However, any pre-existing leakage will stay and it cannot be purged unfortunately.

Thanks again!
