i would like to see the mirror command function mirror a component pattern and create another component pattern instead of creating the parts in a pattern as individual parts in the browser. the last time i saw this mentioned was in 2004

so 18 yrs have gone by with no solution

if you talk about increasing productivity i think it should be looked at because then making a mirror of the mirrored pattern would save a lot of time .component pattern 1.2 ,component pattern 1.3 and so on especially if the parts are the same.the stud and rafters are the same.this pattern breaks into individual parts

Definitely not dismissing your point,

but actually I am not quite able to follow.

Mirror is just making mirror of an object.

Pattern as such is an operation and, most likely it is feasible to apply mirror transformation to it.

But in the end it would just result in reverse direction and perhaps rotation and translation combined.

So just defining such pattern does not seem to be such a problem.

From my personal experience I never had a need to mirror a pattern, and as for components if they are actually the same thing, than definitely they do not need to be mirrored, as they need to stay the same thing.

I have some suspicion on what you are actually trying to achieve, and if you are able to explain more in detail your desired results there is a chance some convenient workflow already exists and someone could share suggestion.

Cris.

Hi! I think you want a symmetric component pattern, right? Indeed, Inventor is not yet able to create such component pattern. I wish it was available. It would have been really helpful.

There are quite a few ideas about mirroring components in Inventor Ideas forum. I have to agree with most of the ideas. They are badly needed. Please vote for them.

Many thanks!

i thinkl autodesk is way behind .i also use solidworks and i find that it works in solidworks.

but then again solidworks does alot of things autodesk doesnt.
