I've tried that. It works fine for single users. In fact, I occasionally do it when I work back and forth between my office and clients sites. But it doesn't seem to work for multi users because the project points to synced folders on their individual workstations. Which is what they don't want.

I have a client who wants to keep their Inventor parts library and templates on OneDrive instead of on a server. Is there a way to point to the actual OneDrive cloud location rather than pointing to the synced version located on each users C drive?

Thanks

You can create a new project file (ipj) in a onedrive folder, like a normal project file.

Isn't Vault designed for similar workflows?

If the users are outside the Company's firewall it gets a bit complex. Vault Gateway can help there.

You can use sharepoint for that!

I agree that it gets complex. They are going to look into installing Vault. This is the best option IMO.

Hi! I think you may want to map the OneDrive folder as a logical drive. It may work better with Inventor, because Inventor is a desktop based CAD tool. It assumes files are from logical drive locations. Please take a look at the following thread.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/workgroup-search-paths-and-onedrive/td-p/9880944

Many thanks!

Have you used the Legacy "shared Projects" within One-Drive to allow multiple users to use the shared Workgroup rather than a workspace?? What could possibly go wrong?
