Tiling Surface with Component

Here are a couple of things i would like to do in order to help me automate some of my workflow.

1) I regularly need to tile individual components across a ceiling. The ceilings are different shapes, but the base components are always the same (and rectangular in shape). I would like to be able to pattern these components up to the edge of a defined region (solid, sketch, etc. - doesn't matter).

2) I would also like for ONLY the last row of components at the edges to be modified to completely fill the space.

I am comfortable using parameters, equations, and a descent amount of iLogic commands to accomplish this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If another program might be better to use, please let me know!

Hi! If I understood the request correctly, it requires Fill Pattern, which is not yet supported by Inventor. There could be alternative workflows using Sketch Driven Pattern but I am not sure if it will work for you. Please share an example that illustrates the desirable patterning behaviors. Forum experts can help take a look.
