Error During Save

Inventor 2022

NOT using Vault.

Do NOT have write access to linked assembly files.

Copied assembly out of write protected server to a local folder.

Deleted many parts in the assembly.

When save to local folder it is also attempting to save linked files to the write protected server. It will NOT save the local file.

In prior version there was a popup asking me what files to save, now all I get is error with no choice to pick files.

Are those assemblies inside the Documents/Standard Files folder set as a library? If so, try removing this option:

That helped. I changed all but User Edits to YES and default condition to Don't Save.

Now there are no more issues when files that cannot be saved are modified and I stall have option to select save.

I have the same problem- I new inventor User. I want to save my project on the server to more people be available to modify it and collaborate at the same project, but I have been having so many issues to save files and I been missing so many hours of work, for sure I need help.
So every time I try to save I got this error that said “the system cannot fine the path” please see attached the screenshot. I map the project and I save on the same workspace all the parts that I'm using for the project.

Hi! You may not be using Vault. But this article may apply to your case also. Maybe the Windows User profile is corrupted or there is no sufficient read/write privilege. Or the total path including the server path (mapped as Z:) exceeds 256 characters.

You are partially correct, but you missed the point.
I do not have write privileges for some of the files attempting to be saved. The point is that I do NOT want to save those files, only the assembly which Is do have write privileges.
In the popup before saving, all I have selected is the assembly yet it still wants to save other files.

Hi Tom,

This may depend on the Save option. Go to Tools -> App Options -> Save. Please check what conditions are turned on. The parts may need to be saved. Is there an iLogic rule running to alter the part files?
