IDW with drawingsview of prepared welding parts looses views when model is changed since Inv 2023

Hello,

in an idw we have drawing views of a welding assembly.

We use views of the machined complete assembly, the pure welded assembly and the prepared part of the assembly.

This works as expected.

Sometimes we make copies of the assembly, the parts and the drawing for a similar product.

That means we copy the files, rename them, change the referenced parts in the assembly and the idw.

This works fine with Inventor 2022.

Since Inv 2023 we have a problem with the idw.

The prepared existing views of the model part are invisible. We must manually switch each view to complete, then back to the prepared part again.

So we loose the complete dimensions, etc.

The pure welded views and complete views are not impacted.

Any ideas why Inventor fails with the displaying of the prepared parts now?

Apologies that no one got to this issue. Do you still have a problem with this workflow? If your references are all correct and the drawing is referencing the correct assembly (and its sub-components), and if you don't have any unresolved icons, update lightning bolts present in the drawing, then that may not be the issue.

You said it worked fine in 2022....do you have a model which works fine in 2022 but the same model fails to produce correct results in 2023? If you can send us your dataset (idw, iam, ipt, ipn) then we can take a look to see what the issue.

Any info on where the problem area or a simple way to reproduce the problem would make it easier for us to find the issue. Also, if you can simplify the problem in anyway that would be awesome!

Hi Manfred,

As I replied to you in the email, I have not received the files that can reproduce the behavior from scratch. Earlier you sent me the files that already had sick annotations. Also, I tried reproducing the exact behavior by following your instruction. But, I was not able to reproduce the behavior.

Please share the files that can reproduce the sick annotations with me. I would like to understand the behavior better.
