Inventor Sketched Symbols, Custom images and Associated Layers

Hey Brain Trust,

Producing Sketched symbols within a new template for the company... Question is as follows:

I'm creating a sketched symbol that contains an image (not linked) - currently all sketched symbols are defaulted to reside on the Symbol Layer - However I noticed after turning the vuisibility of this layer on and off, the image contained in a sketched symbol remains visible... There doesn't seem to be a method to move this image, in the Sketched Symbol Editing Environment, to another layer...

When the image is selected whilst editing the symbol, the layer dropdown option from the Annotate Tab goes empty, not allowing you to shift it to another layer...

The intent is to have our RPEQ Stamp (Official Sign off Stamp) on a layer that is set to Not Visible/Not Printed, then when the time comes and dwgs are certified, we simply change the state of the layer to include the stamp in the newly exported issue of the dwg...

Any thoughts..?

Possible workaround...

I have done something similar for clients with PE stamps for drawing approvals.

I have duplicate Title blocks created, one without the PE stamp, one with the client's PE stamp.

Once the PE approves the drawing, I simply swap out the Title Blocks.

This kind of work around seems to be the only solution, although doubles the number of Title blocks or Borders you have in the mix... I have 15 title blocks and 5 borders - so looks like itd need to go onto the border element to keep iterations low...

Autodesk.. Any feedback..??

Why not simply create the Symbol, and insert it once the drawing is approved?

Hi! It sounds like a bug to me. If possible, please share an example idw file containing such symbol, I would like to understand the behavior better. Something does not sound right to me.
