I searched in the inventor forum for a Thread tool, and a Hole tool.
I read in one of the posts that:
Inner threads MUST be done with the Hole tool.
The Thread tool must be used only for Outer Threads.
Why?
Another Question: What is the difference between the two tools in the case of creating Thread for a hole?
I tried it on Inventor.
The holes tool and the Thread tool gave correct results on the drawing file when the diameters were small. For example M5.
But when we choose large values in the Thread tool, for example M16, the information becomes wrong on the drawing file?
Look at the attached Picture please.
all thanks.

You can make internal threads with the thread tool.

But it is recommended to do it using the hole tool. At least two reasons:

1. This is after less operations in the tree. It's productive.

2. The recommendation to only use the hole tool method prevents the potential mistakes you made in this example.

For holes, the diameter of the drill bit is not equal to the nominal diameter of the thread. If you're doing it manually, you'll need to keep that in mind. You need to check this value in the table in the mechanic's handbook; you have to spend time and energy on it. You yourself forgot about it when you were preparing this post. What for? After all, you have the library from this guide in the program; in the hole wizard.

When you add a thread, the tool reads your drill diameter and adds notches to it according to the pitch from the library. It does not correct your errors in making base holes.

It does not correct your errors in making base holes.

Are you talking about Tread tool?

And: Is this the reason for the error in the information we get on the drawing file?

Yes. I'm talking about the thread tool.

The problem is not the tool, but the steps you took.
You forgot to check the diameter of the drill bit. You made a bigger hole than a real one you would make with a drill. And this error is the reason for further consequences - a bad drawing.

Therefore, it is recommended to use a hole tool. To avoid human error.

For the thread tool to display on the right dimensions you need to make the correct size hole.

In your screenshot you used a hole with diameter Ø16 and applied a M16 thread to it. This resulted in a thread diameter of Ø18.17. If you would have used the correct dimension hole (Ø13.8), the drawing will displays the M16 thread the same as the hole function does (Ø16).
