I followed the infinite amounts of youtube tutorials about adaptive springs. However, when i get to the portion where my driven constrain changes length, My object will just goes through my spring and my spring acts like it doesn't exist.

I.e https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_PvqFGfz5k

I follow the simple spring tutorial, when I get to spring motion my driven objects moves and treats the springs as if it was a ghost.

Below are the pictures of my problem.

There can be many reasons. It's hard to judge without the files. To the most popular:
1. Have you enabled adaptive at all required levels (part, feature, sketch)?
2. Have you applied the proper binding between the spring and each of the plates?
3. Make sure the spring geometry allows for the target stroke. It may not fit in the space shown in the first image.

I really do not know? and I'm lost for a good way to figure it out. I attached my files. I followed the tutorial as close as as can and it worked for them. I think my geometry is good, I checked and all the required files are adaptive. Proper binding? if your referring to constraints, I think is constrained correctly.

my apologies, here is the spring

also, it could be a collision detection problem? if so I don't know how to fix it for adaptive parts.

I checked

1. Lack of adaptability in the sketch. There is no reference to the dimensions of the driver.
2. No coil adaptability - all values given are absolute; should be equations to create a relationship.
3. No binding between the spring and the top plate.

Watch the movie again. No nerves, no rush.

Thank you. I fixed the point you mentions.

1.) I forgot to dimension the driven length in my sketch for the coil.

2.) When picking the height of my coil, instead of measuring from plane to plane, I instead set it equal to the driven length in my coil sketch. This should have fixed the binding in my coil.

I appreciate your help in figuring out why I was having trouble.

@kacper.suchomski
