Tolerance Text Sizes

Hello,

[edited] Could anyone please tell me if it is possible to change the text height so that it is different between 'symmetric' tolerances, whereby I want the text at 100% of the dimension text, and 'deviation' tolerance, whereby I wish the text to be at 50% so that both tolerances together make up the 100% height of the dimension text?

Add another Text Style for smaller text.

Need to test font size to get what you want.

I'm not sure this will work, as I want two different text styles depending upon which tolerance is used. Do you have any more ideas please?

I think you would probably need to have a different Dimension style, using an appropriately sized Text style, for each different type of tolerance type that you intend to use. This is because the tolerance settings are tied to the Dimension style and not to the tolerance type itself within the Dimension style. It would mean selecting a different Dimension style if you are placing a symmetrical tolerance versus the style you select for a deviation tolerance.

Thank you so much for this, this has really helped me out. I think I can figure it out from this point forward. Only trouble is, I'm having difficulty accessing the Styles and Standard Editor, I can't seem to clear it of being read-only. I'll keep on having a play around with it. Looking at it again, this is what you can change also:

You need to set Style to read-write in Project file to save to Style Library.

Or else the change is only in file.

Hello,

Thank you very much for this. I don't know if carrying this out alone will fix my problem though? I think I need two text styles and two dimension styles with the corresponding text styles called up in them. I've been into Windows Explorer and attempted to change the security to 'read-write'. It always goes back to 'read-only', so I set the folder above to 'read-write', all the way up to the 'ProgramData' folder. I don't want mess things up for anything else though. I've been into File > Manage > Projects, but had little success of being able to change the 'read-only' status in there.

Any further enlightenment would be much appreciated!

Set 0.078" to smaller size until you get what you want.

Note Text probably is 0.120", you might need to set it at 0.050".

You cannot edit the Project File while using it (One with "Check Mark").

Double click another Project then click on the one you want to edit.

I think I've manged to create my two dimension styles, but when I go to change the dimension style on one dimension, it sets all the dimensions on the drawing to the same style when I don't want this. Have you any idea of how to avoid it please?
