The geometry is very poor quality.

I would either remodel from scratch or request a higher quality model from the source.

The original question was about planar geometry.

You geometry should be cylindrical or other smooth curved geometry.

I have a polyhedron that I converted into a solid from a mesh. The flat surfaces of this shape consists of hexagons and polygons. You can see in the photo that all the flat surfaces have lines making this part look messy. How do I get rid of these lines?

Hi! When you convert the mesh to the body geometry, it is what you will get. The nice smooth shape in a mesh is actually an illusion or an approximation of the object. Inventor only has very limited mesh modeling capability. I suggest you look into the Mesh Design environment in Fusion 360. It has the ability to convert the mesh and create smooth bodies.

Many thanks!

Hi,

does the same method work on imported surface bodies? i have one included in the attachments.

Thanks,

Alberto
