GoExcel:3rd Party worksheet not found

I have a Inventor part file which I created a few months back which has an embedded excel sheet and has been working fine up until a few days ago. I am now getting the GoExcel error which I have read through a few posts.

We are running release 2020.3 with Windows 10.

Company IT have tried a re-install of Microsoft Office to no avail.

As this is a work computer it is hard to get IT to try things.

Any ideas?

Did your computer operating system reinstalled in this recent period of time.

If yes, then update Microsoft Visual C++ with latest update.

Hi! Please make sure all critical Windows updates and Office updates are installed. Then install 2020.5 update followed by 2020.5.4 update.

The error says the worksheet is not found - which means it's either not embedded anymore, or maybe the sheet may have been renamed?

Can you post offending part?

You can also specify a linked or embedded spreadsheet instead of a filename. Use the syntax 3rd Party:Embedding# for embedded spreadsheets.

Use the syntax 3rd Party:LinkedName.xls for linked spreadsheets. Specify the name that displays in the Inventor Model tree, under 3rd Party.

If you use an embedded table, embed it usingLinkon the Parameters dialog box. Do not change the Embedded table name from the default name given to it by Inventor (for example, Embedding 1).GoExcelrequires the original name.

Updates installed, this did not work. I cannot even create a new embedded file, same error.

This is not the issue, file has been working fine, now not with nothing changed. I cannot even create a new file with a embedded sheet same error.

If you can't create an embedded spreadsheet in a new file, then I suspect the problem is with your installation of Excel. If getting your IT people to look at it is difficult, then can you create some iLogic to replicate the spreadsheet function?

We have recently had Microstation Open Buildings Designer installed and it would appear those machines can no longer use the embedded excel function correctly without this error popping up. However the few that didn't get the install of OBD can still use the function correctly without the error popping up.

Sounds like a nightmare! As @johnsonshiue suggested, it might be worth IT reinstalling Excel again, but make sure they install the 64bit version (default install is 32bit).

Sure you can't replicate the Excel function(s) with native iLogic to get yourself out of the hole?
