Breaking links for multiple part files with the help of Task Scheduler.

so i have downloaded 2000 .stp files to populate my library. i wanted to have these in .itp so i run them through task scheduler. after converting all files i tried opening one file and im being prompted with resolve link window. if i skip this and break link i achieve my goal. but i do not want to do this 2000 times. so am i able to use task scheduler or design assistant to remove links for all files? or does any one have any better solution?

im also wondering how to create an "I-part" from multiple .ipt files. for use in CC-lib. and i dont want many instances in the explorer.

If you don't mind re-running the task scheduler to re-import the step files, you can change the import type to "convert" instead of reference. That should prevent having to break the link after.

Maybe try with one or two files first before doing all of them though.

I don't have much experience with IParts, but I believe they generally need to be generated from a single file, not multiples.

There's also the option for creating custom CC parts, but they have the same issue of generating variations from a single template.

If all the parts are really similar, then it might be worth going the CC route (though either would work), but you'd have to be able to come up with a table to drive the template file with.

A single iPart file create multiple ipt for each part.

You need to model the part t make it iPart.

You can't add 2000 solid to iPart.
