HI!

You can use a simple sketch for this case.

BTW

you have to use split tool, to have a multisolid.

If you need to have 3 different parts, create more two copies from that file and delete the solids you don't need in each file (use Delete Tool, or Direct Tool).

Hello,

so I have a file (imported from .stp) which is represented as one body, but in reality, it should be multiple bodies. Something like this:

Is there any way to split this body into three separate bodies withou manually spliting them using surfaces/planes?

Thaank you.

Unfortunately real filenis much more complex. Idea which I was trying to convey was, that those objects are not connected.
I was hoping that there is some clever iLogic rule to do this.

Are you sure you can't select any import option to create an assembly, or at least a multi-body part?
Can you show this file?

Try a few options:

Open/import a step from the home screen

Import file inside part file (3D model / create / import)

Import file inside assembly file (insert cad)

When in different environments, check both the import and insert options.
Search the dialogs thoroughly each time.

Hi! This is about turning disjoint lumps into separate solid bodies. There is an awkward workflow to do that. Create a Rectangular Pattern -> Whole Body -> Create New Body -> number of instances = number of disjoint lumps -> distance = 0.

Then you will have identical bodies on top of each other. Keep one visible and the rest invisible. Use Delete Face -> Lump selection -> select the unwanted lumps. Repeat the process for other bodies.

Many thanks!
