Missing or invalid origin when creating new sketch

Hi all,

I'm currently at a loss solving the following issue.
When creating a sketch on some (flat!) surfaces, the error below shows up.
I can work around this issue on some parts by stitching the two together, although that's not desired.
I can't do that for single surface parts either, as those can't be stitched. Creating a second surface is not an option as it won't do an offset zero workplane either.

How do i resolve this issue?

Hi!

You can set a new origin point and direction to have a new valid sketch coordinate system and fix the error.

Can you Attach a file here that exhibits this behavior?

Does Manage> Rebuild All return any errors?

Edit: If you drag the red End of Part marker above Sketch14 does Inventor work as expected?

Hi, I'm willing to share but not on open web for confidential reasons. Is there any way I can send them in DM? By WeTransfer, preferrably?

Sketch14 technically doesn't exist as that is the sketch i'm trying to create.

I've tried rebuild but it does not make a difference.

I rather get the feeling it has to do with some extends on surfaces. Those have caused me some trouble before.

Hi Jesse,

This error usually means some geometry is not tagged properly. It is a bug. Please share the files in zip with me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the behavior better and see how we can fix it.

I got around it, by offsetting a work plane from a Orign plane and made a sketch on on the work plane.
