Getting error message " Projection of assembly is required on a drawing view"

I just created a new part (not assembly) and tried to created new drawing for this part. When I click on "Part List" icon, I am getting this error message.

" Projection of assembly is required on a drawing view".

Actually I have not created assembly and not used any assembly drawing template than why am I getting this error. I am seeking help if something in the setting need to be changed.

do you have any views on your drawing? If not, it won't know what pars list to retrieve. I think that's why it's asking you for a view.

The parts list needs an assembly view to fetch the data into... the parts list.

The parts list is for the assembly. Does not apply to parts.
On one drawing (or even on one sheet) it is possible to place projections from many files (including many assemblies).
Therefore, when creating a parts list (nomen omen a table), the program asks you to indicate the projections from which it is to download information (because there can be many assemblies on one sheet).
It won't work without it. This tool is for assemblies and requires its presence to function.

I have views on the drawing. This is not an assembly, but a single part (.ipt). I tried with difference parts and tried the same, but get the same error message. This proves that there is nothing wrong with the ipt part.

You cannot create a parts list for a single part on a drawing. The drawing has to contain an assembly as kacper mentioned.

Simply to create a parts list that applies to an assembly, you need the assembly so that the list can refer to it.

I only have one part and it's views. There is no assemblies opened on my inventor screen nor I have in my computer at all.

I need the raw material used for this part. The tab "part list" can also be utilized for single part that will list the raw material.

No. The parts list tool only works with assemblies. If you want to describe the material, you can do it manually or design your own title block that will include this parameter.

We get this kind of result for single part drawing. I took this screen shot from another computer who is using inventor. I copied everything from that computer in setting, but no success.

It's more of a one-part assembly.
If you really must use this list, it's a good solution.

It is likely that a single part assembly was created and used for the drawing, which would allow the use of the parts list.

That means you create two files for every single part - quickly becomes a nightmare for file maintenance.

You may want to create a User Defined Symbol with text that pulls the information into the symbol.

The part was created and not assembly. It has .ipt extension.

Then it was my error. I was illustrating that it is possible to put a single part in an assembly and then use the parts list.
If a Part file was used to create the drawing view, then, I think the object is a general table made to look similar to the parts list.
