Appearance overwrite not working

Hi,

I think we've discovered a bug when overwriting an appearance in a part file (.ipt). we've no clue why this happens but all features of the part were deleted and the bug is still present.

Both body overwrites and face overwrites don't seem to work, the main appearance of the part does seem to work.

I've attached the file and some screenshots:

general appearance "Lead"
With body priority overwritten a single body (does not work)
With face priority overwritten a single face (does not work)
Using the clear overwrites function it does selected both the body and the face, indicating in the background the overwrites are present but they aren't correctly presented to the user

If anyone has had this problem with IV 2023.2.1 please let us know

I tried your file and found the same issue. I tried it with a new file that I created, and no issue.

It seems to me that your problem may be due to some ilogic rules or your own materials.
I made a new file for myself and everything works as intended.
You probably have some error in your own document.

Hi! I took a quick look at the file. Indeed, the file is corrupted. Based on the internal debug tool, it seems that some appearance styles are stuck on ghosted geometry. If you find a way to reproduce the behavior from scratch, it will be very helpful to finding a fix.

Thanks for your reply.

An appearance styles being stuck on ghosted geometry has not happened before?

If you're able to see the corrupted part is there a way to reverse/reset this behavior?

I'm hopeful there's a fix for this issue because I can't start over on the part. If I can provide anything else, please let me know.

Hi,

I managed to get a backup of the same file from the beginning of last week. Back then it wasn't corrupted.

Again I had to delete all features and added a simple extrude to show the appearance behavior.

What exactly caused the problem is still a mystery to me.
