How to pattern along a non-linear path

Hi All,

I'm currently in a situation where I need to pattern a component along a path @ 75 pitch but I'm not sure how to select the path that is neither circular nor totally straight.

Please see attached image for what i am trying to achieve.

All help is welcome!

You can create a pattern based in a line:

You can do the pattern in the part, just to position the pattern (using work points), and then import the pattern specifications in the assembly:

hi there, thank you for the reply, so I'm not really understanding how to enact your solution properly, when I use 'curve length' it just spaces the specified QTY equally based on the length of the curve, which doesn't give me the 75mm pitch. Nor does it actually follow the curve, it still does it in a straight line.

Perhaps something like the attached one? (have look in the array properties and in the parameter editor)

For a more detailed help give us more information: beginning with your Inventor version, next in which environment (part or assembly, okay, you're currently in an assembly), ... the best you post your file(s) here.

In this case use "Spacing" at the first step (pattern of Workpoints in Part file)

Then in assembly (in Modeling mode) pick this pattern as base

Thank you for the example, I was able to do what I intended from your example but it's not giving the result I thought it would.

Hi @j.palmeL29YX ,

See the initial post with the image attached, I wanted to pattern a loop along the 'u' shaped path with a horizontal pitch of 75mm but it kept using the 75mm pitch on the diagonal distance.
