Creating a Control Surface for Sweep

I cannot get the sweep to work which appears to relate to the diameter of the control surface relative to the 3D sketch.

Can some guidance be provided, please? In the video kindly created by Kacper Suchomski the diameter of the Control Surface appeared to be the same as the 3D Sketch and the centre line of the swept 2D sketch. But that will not work for me in the part attached.

I would be most grateful for assistance, please.

Can you show a screenshot of the error message?
Make sure you have all updates installed for your version.

I have downloaded my own file and believe it or not it worked! I have been struggling with it for some 5 hours!
I assume by the way that I have to create a new solid doughnut profile to be able to subtract the coil? I cannot expect it to subtract the coil from the Control Profile?

If you are unsure of the fate of the torus, it is good practice to create the controls as surfaces. You can have 2 toruses - a surface for control and a solid for boolean operations. See if you can cut; if not, go back and create 2 donuts.

I am most grateful for your kind detailed advice. Especially the advice to create two Toruses aka Doughnuts, one as a surface to act as the control surface and a solid with which to combine with the swept component.

Once again I am extremely grateful.

I apologise for troubling you yet again.

I hope you will forgive me for seeking your advice if I run into trouble in the future?
