Hi! I must not have followed the steps correctly. I cannot seem to reproduce the PartList cell editing issue on 2024. I am wondering if other users are seeing the issue too.

It seems to happen when you are trying to override the default entries of a parts list. All are Windows 11 machines. One is brand new fresh install but all 4 exhibit the issue.

I recon - it is a new feature. It warns you that overriding values in Parts List is a big no-no. There are other mechanisms in existence to deal with total numbers of parts in a project, which requires more than just one assembly to be built at a time. Exporting Parts List to the Excel and modify it in there is one of them. But if you insist on overriding the values manually in Inventor - my sympathy is not with you then.

Hi! Keegan did send me the files. I took a look. I can confirm the behavior. This is not file specific. It does seem like a change in behavior in PartsList editor. Somehow there is a delay on preview when more cells are overridden. It could be related to a Copy&Paste to table crash defect we fixed (in 2023.3 also). I am working with the project team to understand the behavior better.

I don't believe it is true that Inventor PartsList needs to be manually overridden constantly. The data is from the assembly BOM. If the assembly BOM is structured properly, the same data will appear in the PartsList. There are cases that the customized requirements are not fulfilled by the PartsList. However, it should be case specific.

Many thanks!

Thank you for looking into this. Is it possible to make iframe parts take on individual part numbers in the components? For example, say a company makes 30 variations of nearly the same assembly. All 30 assemblies use several common parts but these are created using iframe. This is great, however when using iframe, the BOM only shows the total amount of raw material used not a component level.

Hi! If possible, maybe we should move to a different thread. Anyway, you are asking how to split the frame members in the BOM table. Inventor BOM is Part Number based BOM. When the PNs match, the components will be merged in the BOM and the quantity is tallied. To separate them, you can either set each frame with a different PN or uncheck the "Part Number Row Merge Settings" option (the button in the middle of the assembly BOM table at the top).

Many thanks!
