First - your follower is very poorly designed.

Hello, I attach an easy sketch. I pretend draw a CAM Follower on 2D Sketch like in Solidworks:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DD8WeDyfOsA

but in Inventor I don't see any command like "make a path" like in SW.

I need tangent the cam-follower on the entire path of the cam.

Can you help me??

Thanks,

Hi

The assembly environment has the right tools for this. I think it's better to use blocks and layouts and use translation constraints there and all the rest to align the objects with each other.

You refers on 2D sketch enviroment inside of assembly enviroment? Or create a 3d part of cam and follower and insert translation constraints?

Place individual components as sketches, surface parts, or solid parts. This is arbitrary, because the assembly environment supports components in any form, but it gives more possibilities to establish mutual relations and constraints.

Open the Attached assembly file.

Go to Environments>Dynamic Simulation.

Note the 2D Contact Joint...

Click the Play button.

I had to create an assembly for this particular action, but for many mechanisms you can do directly with Blocks in part file as shown in the SolidWorks video. This mechanism just happens to be special case because the follower can leave the cam without a Torque value (or Spring) to hold it against the cam. (Just like in the real world.)
