Not sure i can really help you here, but i noticed in your screenshot that the red cross is lit up.
That means there are errors that can interfere with the solver, so make sure you fix those first.
Report back if the contact solver still doesn't work after that and hopefully others can give more suggestions.

Hi, im using inventor por 2023 and im trying to use the contact solver for 2 rotating parts ( i can rotate them seperatly without problems). the shaft should make the plate move when it collides. I did made a contact pair with the 2 part and if i toggle of the contact solver, they just move through each other (as supposed). If i toggle on the contact solver, there is a collision, but no resulting movement. if i try to rotate the top plate through the shaft, the shaft collides and after i drag the mouse further, i teleports through the plate collision points... any suggestions?

Try a Rebuild All first (Manage tab). Then, check your settings under Tools (tab) > Doc. Settings > Modelling > Interactive Contact > set to "Contact Set Only", and see if that helps.

Without the parts - the assembly instructions are useless.

I do not own a license to a rar extractor software, but I do own a license to Windows OS (required to run Inventor). Can you use Windows to zip the files rather than use 3rd party rar compression?

As i rebuild the so far progress (the problematic files are part of the skill builder learning path), i noticed that in the files there are some errors with imates, and gear alignment which didn`t appear in the learning path videos but are already part of the provided files.

Update: turns out, the carousel plate is effecting the cam shaft as expected (physically plausible, but not needed), but not vice versa ( as needed for correct model behaviour)

So I was working through the same tutorial that you were and ran into the same problem. It appears that the addition of the bolts using the bolted connection tool for connecting Part P-100-044 and the BearingRing is giving the contact solver issues, but I'm not sure why... As a work-around, what I did was add in one of the ISO bolts from the content center instead of using the bolted connection function, then added a rigid constraint, and then added a circular pattern (which is the same workflow that the Bolted Connection tool goes through, minus the auto-sizing, as you just need to manually select a bolt). When you go through that, now it looks like the CAM can rotate. Hope that helps!

I'm still having the problem after taking these steps

Delete the "Bolted Connection" patterns

Delete the orphaned bolts from the above step

Delete the constraints/joints between the gearbox housing, the bearing assembly, and the P-100-044 part

Place normal "mate" constraints between the above components

Verify everything rotates appropriately

Try to rotate the camshaft again

Same results as before - can rotate the P-100-044 part to effect the cam but rotation of the cam leads to incredibly jerky, buggy movement of P-100-044.

After 35 years of AutoCAD use, none of this surprises me.

Hi! I suspect there could be geometry issue within the model. Open the assembly and press Ctrl+F7. Is there any bad body reported? If yes, please open the part and run through Repair Bodies workflow to fix up the bad body.

Another place to check is preexisting interference. In the assembly, go to Inspect tab -> Interference Analysis -> select all components. Is there any interference?

Please feel free to share the files in zip here or directly with me johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the issue better.

While it's difficult to follow the tutorial video due to irregular pacing, the presenter's tendency to gloss over critical steps, and difficulty following the strangely non-highlighted cursor; I'm as certain as I can be that I followed the prescribed steps accurately. I ran through it 5 times. I can only guess it somehow comes down to a hardware or Inventor configuration difference. Work picked up so I stopped trying. If I get time next Summer, I might toss another disk into my workstation, fresh load Windows, and fresh load Inventor to try with a default setup.
